November Events

This November we will be drawing on these two dates:

  • 22 November at a friend's house - this is a private function hosted by a friend. It's a tea-party plus mandala drawing function
  • 29 November, at Setenang Buddhist Society, 10am-12.30pm. Lunch will be served after 12.30pm.
May we get enough participants to draw mandalas for Malaysia on these two days!

8 Friends

This is my (Khema-Yen) first Mandala for Malaysia, titled "8 Friends". It comes with a poem:

8 Friends Planting Seeds
8 Friends Growing Strong
8 Friends Manifesting....
Peace, Love, Joy, and Abundance on Earth
8 Friends Doing These TOGETHER!

This mandala is about celebrating friendship, relationships, and working together with friends to create our life purpose on Earth. Because to be successful in whatever we want to do in life, we need to build good relationships with others. These intentions are imprinted in this mandala. Hence, I feel "8 Friends) is suitable to be the first mandala posted here in this blog. Yes, we need the collective effort of many Malaysians to make this project a success.

Thank you!

(This mandala is also dedicated to my Book Club friends whom I love dearly. Thank you friends!)

About Mandalas For Malaysia

The name of our project says it all: to gather Malaysians from various societies, communities, companies to come together and draw mandalas as an offering of love, peace, unity, hope, gratitude, and abundance and prosperity to Malaysia.

What is a mandala/ Mandala is a Sanskrit word for 'circle'. Hence, mandala art are drawings with a circle (or circles) as their main theme. Throughout history, a circle has always been a symbol of unity and wholeness - qualities that are perfect to be offered to Malaysia.

We believe that everyone can draw a mandala. For our project, we use basic and simple art materials: colour pencils, pencils, erasers. sharpeners, compasses (for drawing circles), and your regular drawing papers (275 by 375 mm).

Do drop in a note if you would like to host a Mandalas For Malaysia event. I would love to hear from you. Thanks!
